My name is Anisa. I started my bariatric journey in September of 2017. I did my first consult October of 2017 and officially started my journey that November. After 7 long months of nutrition and other forms of clearance, my paper work was submitted and I got approved less than a week after that. I had my Roux-en-Y/Gastric Bypass on 6/28/2018. My hospital stay was horrible but everything else has gone pretty well. This week I am officially 6 weeks out from surgery. I wish everyone the absolute best on their journeys! 😊😊😊

Ok - all the time I've known you I never knew your real name. It's awesome now because my sister-in-law's name is Anisa and I never meet anyone else with that name!!

I only ever find out of other Anisa’s over the internet. The name is getting more common now than it used to be. Fun fact! It’s Arabic for “friendly” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah my SIL is an Australian citizen but she was born in the middle east so her parents chose a name to fit her birthplace!

He didn’t come to America until my mom was pregnant with my third oldest sister; I think he was in his 40’s or late 30’s. Lol needless to say, my name is not really Kat; that’s just short for my middle name (Kathryn). My first name is Fairuz; she was the Arab equivalent to Selena...or so I’ve been told lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Wow, I love the ancestry! I am not of Arab descent as far as I know. I have a very mixed background from my great grandmother’s (my mom’s grandma) side. She was mixed with so many things. I was blessed enough to know her and have her in my life until I was 18 and she would so proudly declare her Native American/German/Mexican/Chinese descent. The African American came in with my great grandfather who was half black and half Native American. And I just went waaaaay off subject, lol. I feel like I’ve heard the name Fairuz before. You should look into your namesake, might be super interesting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve never met any of my Arab relatives; they’re all still in Tunisia. You’ve probably heard of Fairuza before; she’s a famous actress. The only other thing I could find about my name is it being a gem; amber in color. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And maybe someday you’ll meet your Tunisian relatives. And you’re a literal gem 😉 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
