I think we have have a tendency to over pack or focus on the wrong things, so let's find out what's actually useful.
For those that have been there, add what you found most valuable during your stay and add what you packed and didn't use in any way.

My pre-op class gave me a list of things to pack in my hospital bag. So I packed 3 sets of pjs, slippers, flip flops, 3 sets of undies, gas x, biotene, and my phone charger...I used my phone charger. They never allowed me to get dressed, not until the day of discharge. You honestly don’t need much. The hospital I was at provided gas x for me. But I know some hospitals don’t so I would put that in the bag just in case Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I definitely have biotene and gas x on my list as well as chapstick. I'm planning on going home in the same pajamas I walk in with. I read a tip about having a pillow in your car to use between your tummy and the seat belt on the ride home. That's genius. I also saw someone say Air Freshener. lol Not sure if that was to mask the general hospital smell or because of the excess gas.

I do wonder about the air freshener, lol. And definitely the 1 pair of pjs is all you need. They kept me in hospital gowns the whole time (2 days). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought about bringing my own blanket for comfort because the hospital ones are always so thin and cold. But something about having a blanket in a hospital and then bringing it home creeps me out. Maybe washing on the sanitize mode would work? Hmmmm

Hmmmm I had the same thought about bringing my own blanket and also a pillow but I was also weirded out about bringing it home with me from the hospital so I didn’t bring either. I mean, I didn’t share a room or anything but the thought of hospital germs wouldn’t stop plaguing me. Maybe get a special blanket just for the hospital? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought about a special blanket but the whole point of bringing one from home is bringing my favorite one for comfort. I don't know.

Yes. I remembered I had a cozy robe. So I took that and used as a blanket. That’s easier to through in the wash. It worked perfect.
